You can take an old sheet and lay it on the ground. Now rake all those leaves onto it. Gather up the 4 corners and off to the compost pile.

You can stitch together three sides of two new attractive print or colored sheets, to make a blanket that looks like a pricey comforter.

When traveling spread a sheet over the back seat and floor. When you stop, just shake it out.

A twin fitted sheet makes a perfect fitted tablecloth. The corners won’t blow up either.

You can create a stuffed animal hammock with an old sheet. Fold it into a triangle, tack one point to the corner and the other two along each wall.

Wash stuffed animals in a pillowcase.

You can use shoulder pads as knee pads, around the house, or in the garden.

You can slip an old shower cap, over the bottoms of hanging plants before watering them. Later put a bucket under the plant and remove it. Be careful.

You can use shower caps as food covers.

You can wear a shower cap when painting a ceiling.

If you live in an apartment dwelling, you could have the kids wear heavy socks over their shoes. Then they won’t disturb those under them.

You could slide a yardstick inside an old stick. Tie at the cuff. Now you can dust under the refrigerator behind radiators, furniture etc.

The tops of the socks can be cut off and used as wrist sweat bands, or even pony tail holders.

You want a toddler to stay out of a room, or in a room. Just slip a sock over the knob, and secure with rubberband.

You can place a sock over a drinking glass or bottle to keep it from slipping out of small hands.

You can cut the toes off an old athletic sock and pull it over your baby’s pants. This will protect a crawling baby’s knees, and keep the pants from wearing out.

Make a bean bag for the kids.
Fill the foot of the sock with beans and sew it up.

Before putting on their coats, use old socks as fingerless mittens.The socks length will help keep them on.

Make them an inexpensive softball. Stuff an old sock with nylons and sew it up.

Pack shoes in old socks when traveling.

Lets make the kids some puppets out of old socks or mittens. Add some yarn for hair, and buttons for facial features.

Put a dogs squeaky toy in an old sock and toss.

You can pack fragile knick knacks like ceramic Xmas decorations in old socks.

You can use latex sponges as wedges for makeup.

You can wet and freeze small sponges to be used when an ice compress is needed.

You can take an buy a package of different colored sponges. Cut them into shapes to be used as blocks in or out of the tub.

Have collected so many useful tips over the years. Have done a lot of traveling. Now I’ve decided to share with others.

You don’t even need fabric sheets in the dryer. This is what I do. Take and put 1/4 cup of liquid fabric softener in a 32 oz pritzer bottle. Fill the remainer of the way with water. Shake it up. Open the dryer door and spray this mixture about 8 times. Close door, and turn it on. They will come out wonderful. I love doing this.

If you put 1 cup of white vinegar in your rinse water,
with a load of towels or blankets, you won’t have any fuzz.

You can also add 1 cup of salt to new jeans. This will make them softer.

Now if you spray Scotch Gard on the kids jeans, they can go sliding down hill in them.
You just made them some snow pants.

If you spray Scotch Gard on their new clothes, before washing, stains will be a breeze to get out.

You can make mittens for them out of an old sweater.
Put their hand at the bottom of the sweater. Where the ribbing is. Now trace their hand. Cut the two pieces out, and sew them. The ribbing end will slide right over their hand. For Xmas sew some bells on the fingers.

When tying small childrens shoes. Wet the shoe strings then tie. They’ll stay tied.

You can use a thick rubber band as a buttonhole extender.

You can store children’s games in an old pillowcase.

You can put delicate machine washable items, including pantyhose in a pillowcase. Close it with a rubberband.

Pretty napkins. Buy colored pillow cases. Cut out 12” squares with pinking sheers. Don’t include the hemmed area. There no hemming necessary. These are prettier than any napkins.

You can make curtains out of sheets. Easy and pretty. Also cheaper than curtains. I’ ve seen some beauties. It is so easy.

You can make cheap t - shirts look very expensive. In fact they look like suede. I’ve made several.

You can use a pillowcase to store clothes, from season to season.

You can store leather or suede purses in a pillowcase.

King size pillowcases are the right size to cover the pad on a baby’s changing table. A king can also be used as a sheet for an infant car bed. If it gets a little wet, turn it over an use the other side.

Lets bathe the baby. Buy an inexpensive plastic baby tub. Now slip a regular pillowcase over the whole tub. It forms a soft hammock to lay the baby in. All the water drains through the case and into the tub.

You can carry a sleeping bag in a pillowcase.
